Delta Spirit’s bassist, Jon Jameson, spoke to me about his band, their newest self-titled album, and the Pleasantville Music Festival – which they’ll be playing this weekend. Here’s some extra info, in case my article in Friday’s LoHud Weekend leaves you wanting more.
SS: How did you get involved with the Pleasantville Music Festival?
JJ: Well, four out of five of us live in Brooklyn. We used to live in California so for one, we’re closer. Two, our booking agent sees what’s available, and this festival was available so we’re really excited to play it. We’re not touring right now; we did our first headlining tour for our new album (Delta Spirit) in the spring. We have another tour coming in the fall in November. So for now we’ve just been doing festivals and local stuff.
SS: Do you have a big fan base in New York?
JJ: Yeah we do great in the city. The East coast, its weird, we’re a So-Cal band but we’ve always done better in New York than L.A. – since we’ve been nationally touring. We love New York. New York has always been good to us.
