Carly Rose Sonenclar, 13, wowed the judges on the Fox singing competition Wednesday night with her rendition of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”
The young singer, who hails from Mamaroneck, belted out the hit with enough soul and skill to leave the judges in awe.
“We could be looking at the winner,” record executive turned “X Factor” judge L.A. Reid said.
Judge Demi Lovato was in agreement. “You are so good and it honestly doesn’t make sense. I don’t believe that it’s your voice. I feel like Celine Dion is here and she is hiding.”
Even Simon Cowell, who isn’t known to mince words, had good things to say. “I don’t believe that you’re a human being because you can’t do that at 12,” he said. “That control on that song…and that note at the end was absolutely incredible.”
And when it came to her “X Factor” mentor, Carly hit Britney one more time — with goosebumps. “I’m so proud of you I have chills all over my body,” Spears said.
The crowd also seemed to love the performance — they chanted “Carly” into the commercial break.
But despite her impressive performance, Mamaroneck’s Carly Rose Sonenclar still needs viewer votes.
“DOUBLE ELIMINATION week on
#xfactor!,” she tweeted Wednesday night. “I think that means #CarlysAngels need to double the times they vote!. Thank you!!! #votecarlyrose.”
