Still stumped about what to get your friends and family members this holiday season? Look no further than our Lower Hudson Valley celebrities for some gift-giving inspiration. From perfume to jewelry, here are a few products created by or promoted by the area’s most famous residents.
From Blake Lively: perfume
Give the gift of Blake Lively’s scent! The Bedford beauty is the face of Gucci Premiere, the perfume she promoted in a commercial this year. The actress claims Gucci Premiere is her fragrance obsession and tells Glamour Magazine, “It’s nice to have a scent that in room people will say ‘What is that? What are you wearing?’” We wonder what her new husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, thinks of the scent.
From Rob Thomas: a new CD
Have a Rob Thomas fan in your life? They’ll love the new CD from the Bedford resident’s band Matchbox Twenty. The album, titled “North,” includes the single “Overjoyed.” And that’s exactly how we feel about Matchbox Twenty releasing an album of all new material for the first time since 2002.
From Diddy: clothes, cologne, and more
There are plenty of gifts to choose from by rapper/producer/actor/Sean John clothing designer/liquor spokesman Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. Just head to the Mount Vernon native’s Sean John website (www.seanjohn.com) to get started.
From Mary J. Blige: beauty products
Order beauty products from Yonkers’ own Mary J. Blige via the Home Shopping Network. Choices include her My Life perfume, shower cream and body lotion, which are a part of the Carol’s Daughter beauty brand.
From Martha Stewart and Stanley Tucci: new cookbooks
If there’s a food lover on your list, consider new cookbooks by Bedford’s Martha Stewart and lifelong Westchester resident Stanley Tucci. Martha Stewart’s “Martha’s American Food” has been called a “a love letter to American food,” featuring recipes for her favorite national dishes. Actor Stanley Tucci’s “The Tucci Cookbook” is a collection of Italian recipes inspired by his family.
From Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon: a film
Put some drama under the tree! “Arbitrage,” the critically-acclaimed movie starring Bedford resident Richard Gere and former Pound Ridge resident Susan Sarandon is out on DVD. Gere plays a troubled hedge fund magnate and Sarandon plays his wife.
From Vanessa Williams: a good read
Chappaqua resident Vanessa Williams added author to her resume when she coauthored a memoir with her mother Helen Williams this year. The book, titled “You Have No Idea: A Famous Daughter, Her No-Nonsense Mother, and How They Survived Pageants, Hollywood, Love, Loss (and Each Other),” is in stores and online now.
From David Tutera: an engagement ring!
Planning to pop the question over the holidays? Port Chester’s own David Tutera, wedding planner to the stars and star of his own reality show “My Fair Wedding,” now offers a line of affordable engagement rings at Sears. Tutera says he created each piece himself.
