Getting ready for the Golden Globes…we’ll be live blogging Sunday’s ceremony!

Hey there, party people, are you ready for the Golden Globes on Sunday? We know it was all about the Oscar nominations yesterday, but the Globes are truly the first big awards show of the season, and we just can’t wait to see the stars get their glamour on.

Entertainment writer Heather Salerno will be live blogging the entire ceremony (airing on NBC, starting at 8 p.m.) from the comfort of her very own living room couch, so check in to LoHud Lowdown to get her take on the celebrity shenanigans. She’ll be commenting on the red carpet arrivals, too, so if you want to get all Joan Rivers with her, the fun starts at 6 p.m.

But for now, we thought we’d give a shout out to the locals nominated in both the film and television categories. There are plenty of movie heavyweights represented, but we’re personally rooting for Dobbs Ferry native Max Greenfield, nominated for Best Supporting TV Actor for his scene-stealing work on “New Girl.”

Does he stand a chance against Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”) or Mandy Patinkin (“Homeland”)? (And yes, for whatever bizarre reason, the Globes combines drama and comedy in the supporting categories…discuss the fairness of that amongst yourselves.) You just never know at the Globes…so go, Schmidt!

Meanwhile, here’s who else from the Lower Hudson Valley may take home a trophy Sunday night:

Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director:

Larchmont resident Ang Lee for Life of Pi

Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama:

Pound Ridge’s Richard Gere, Arbitrage

Mount Vernon native Denzel Washington, Flight
