Sadly, the B-52s just announced that they have to postpone tonight’s performance at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre, because band member Cindy Wilson is ill.
Wilson’s illness wasn’t specified, although according to the theater, it’s not life-threatening. However, her doctor has ordered immediate bed rest.
In a statement, the band said: “Our thoughts are with Cindy as we send her our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery. We sincerely regret any disappointment this has caused our fans and hope to be able to make it up to you soon!”
A rescheduled date for the concert hasn’t been confirmed yet, but all existing tickets will be honored for that show. Refunds are also available.
But there’s a bright side to this news: Nicki Blumh and the Gramblers, the B-52s’ opening act, will still perform tonight – for free! They’ll be at Garcia’s, the Cap’s lobby bar, at 8 p.m.
And hopefully, Miss Wilson and the gang will be there, shaking their cosmic thing very soon.
