Were you looking forward to seeing Ryan Reynolds wielding a sword and cutting some barbarians down to size?
We were, too. But alas, the actor – who calls Bedford home with wife Blake Lively – has reportedly exited the developing remake of the 1986 fantasy film, “Highlander.”
First reported by website The Wrap, Reynolds’ exit was related to the fact that original director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (“28 Weeks Later”) had left the project over creative differences with the film studio, Summit Entertainment.
No word yet on who will replace Reynolds as immortal Scottish swordsman Connor Macleod, played by Christopher Lambert in the original flick. Next up for the actor is voicing the title character in the animated movie, “Turbo,” which opens July 17.
