Yonkers is rewinding time today—“Boardwalk Empire” is back in town.
Scenes for the HBO hit, a period drama set in Atlantic City during the Prohibition era, will be filmed at CIty Hall, the Yonkers Metro North station and the old city jail on Tuesday.
Today’s filming isn’t the first time the show has been on location in Yonkers. If you thought you recognized the train station or Yonkers CIty Hall in past episodes, you were correct.
For the first time, the show will also make use of the city’s 86-year-old jailhouse on Alexander St, which no longer houses inmates. The building, on the market for $2.5 million, is now available for movie and television shoots.
