Six actors and actresses with ties to the Lower Hudson Valley woke up to good news Thursday morning — they’re nominated for Golden Globes!
Here are the local stars who might walk away with trophies when the Golden Globe Awards air January 12 on NBC.
1. Julianna Margulies
Nomination: Best actress in a TV series (drama) for her performance as Alicia Florrick in “The Good Wife.”
LoHud ties: Born in Spring Valley, the actress is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville.
2. Hayden Panettiere
Nomination: Best supporting actress in a series, mini-series or TV movie for her role as country singer Juliette Barnes in ABC’s “Nashville.”
LoHud ties: The former child star is a Palisades native.
3. Jon Voight
Nomination: Best supporting actor in a series, mini-series or TV movie for his role as Mickey Donovan in Showtime’s “Ray Donovan.”
LoHud ties: Angelina Jolie’s Oscar-winning dad is a Yonkers native.
4. Michael Douglas
Nomination: Best actor in a mini-series or TV movie for his portrayal of Liberace in “Behind the Candelabra.”
LoHud ties: The Hollywood icon lives in Bedford.
5. Edie Falco
Nomination: Best actress in a TV series (comedy) for playing the title role in Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie.”
LoHud ties: The Emmy winner is a SUNY Purchase grad.
6. Jason Bateman
Nomination: Best actor in a TV series (comedy) for his role as Michael Bluth in Netflix’s “Arrested Development.”
LoHud ties: The “Identity Thief” star is a Rye native.
