We wonder if Audra McDonald and her husband Will Swenson spontaneously burst into song when they’re at home in Croton-on-Hudson. After all, they’re both Broadway stars with new musicals to celebrate. Audra is starring in previews of “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill” and Will took the stage as Javert for the opening of “Les Miserables” on Sunday.
As you would imagine, Audra was there to support her Broadway boo on his big night. The actress was beaming when she arrived at the Imperial Theater with her daughter Zoe. Before the show, she tweeted “Happy opening @LesMizBway! So excited for you all. Especially@thewillswenson. I’m the proudest wife in Paris(circa 1862)! Break legs every1!”
Irvington’s Meredith Vieira was among the famous audience members showing support for the show’s return to Broadway. “If you’re planning a trip to #NYC, @LesMizBway is a can’t miss!,” the talk show host tweeted .
Will seemed to soak up the support from family, friends and fans on Twitter. “So grateful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support on our opening night of @LesMizBway – I love you ALL back,” he wrote.
