Who needs a Hollywood red carpet? Will a benefit for a local school be Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones’s first appearance as a couple since announcing their trial separation last year?
The Bedford residents will be honorees at a fundraiser for the Windward School, an independent school in White Plains that is nationally known for its research-based methods for teaching students with language-based learning disabilities.
Michael and Catherine are longtime supporters of the school. Their children are reportedly students there.
The benefit will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 5 at Cipriani on 42nd St. in Manhattan. A highlight will be the screening of a new film featuring former Windward students and their parents discussing how the school changed their lives. Visit www.thewindwardschool.org for more details.
It’s an exciting time for Windward, which currently has a lower school campus on Windward Ave. and a middle school campus on Red Oak Lane. With more eligible applicants than it can accommodate, the school is set to open a new location on 93rd St. in Manhattan this fall.
