Glenn Close didn’t have a long commute to work if she filmed scenes for her upcoming film “The Great Gilly Hopkins” on Friday.
The movie is on location in Bedford, where the actress owns a home. Scenes were also shot on Indian Hill Road and around Bedford Village on Thursday.
But the movie’s production company wasn’t able to film in all of the Bedford locations they originally scouted for the film. Resident Suzanne Galli recently told the New York Post she signed a contract to allow filming at her home, but the town denied the permit because of ongoing lawsuits brought by her next door neighbors.
“The Great Gilly Hopkins,” based on the young adult novel by Katherine Paterson, is about a foster child whose life changes when she meets her new foster mother Maime Trotter, played by Kathy Bates. The movie, expected to hit theaters next year, also stars Sophia Nelisse, Julia Stiles and Octavia Spencer.
