Yonkers’ own Christine Silverstein continues to cook her way through Fox’s amateur culinary competition ‘MasterChef.”
In the elimination round of Monday night’s episode, Silverstein prepared a veal/pork meatloaf with fresh herbs, fennel pesto, and citrus gremolata — topped with a fried egg. Judge Graham Elliot said the flavor was “awesome,” which was high praise considering it was the investment director’s first time making meatloaf.
Silverstein was sent through to the Top 20. She will compete on the next ‘Masterchef’ episode airing June 9.
“I would like to take away from the experience growth,” she said in a promotional video at the beginning of the season. “I think it’s the number one reason I’m here….I know there is so much I can learn from these chefs and I am determined and willing to learn everything I can.”
At the end of the season, the winner of ‘MasterChef’ will receive a cookbook deal and a $250,000 grand prize.
