The White Plains-based Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center will honor actor and activist Richard Gere at an upcoming benefit dinner.
The Westchester resident, whose Gere Foundation contributes to humanitarian causes around the world, will receive the nonprofit organization’s Eugene M. & Emily Grant Spirit of Humanity Award.
The center, which helps bring lessons of the Holocaust, genocide and human rights to local schools, will also honor Westchester Bank CEO John M. Tolomer with their Bernard J. Rosenshein Courage to Care Award.
The annual benefit will be held at the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club on Sept. 18. Find more details at hhrecny.org.
