Larchmont native Joan Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan on Thursday after she stopped breathing during a throat procedure on her vocal chords.
Rivers, 81, was having the procedure done at a clinic when the medical emergency occurred. E! News reports that Rivers is in stable but critical condition.
The last time LoHud caught up with the legendary comedian, she seemed happy to be healthy at age 80. “They keep telling me I’m 80 and I think they made a mistake,” she said. “Everything is still working! I think the whole key is that I’m one of the lucky ones. I got to make a living doing what I love.”
