Will Nucky die? Will the final scene make us all want to down some whiskey? So many questions to be answered during Sunday’s finale of HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire.’ And one more thing local fans might want to know: Will it all end in Westchester?
Secret scenes were filmed at Alder Manor in Yonkers at the end of August, during the time the show was shooting its final episode. It was the last, but certainly not the first time the Emmy-winning series was filmed at the historic 1912 estate. Alder Manor turned out to be one of the show’s frequent locations over the years. During its five seasons, the Prohibition-era drama also brought lights, cameras and action to Yonkers locations such as City Hall, the old city jail, and the Metro North station.
But don’t just watch for Yonkers on Sunday’s episode. Watch for Scarsdale, too.
Potential spoiler alert: Suburbarazzi has learned that the show was also on location at the Scarsdale Pool Complex in late August. Jason Marra, Scarsdale Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, tells us an underwater scene was filmed in a diving pool over a two-day period. There’s buzz that the scene was set up to like it was filmed in the ocean.
So, will ‘Boardwalk Empire’ end in a local pool — or a pool of blood? We’ll keep guessing until Sunday at 9 p.m.
