Irvington resident Meredith Vieira has reason to celebrate this week. Her talk show “The Meredith Vieira Show” has been renewed for its second season.
The daytime chatfest averaged a 1.2 household rating last week. Though there’s still room for improvement, NBCUniversal is committed to the show’s growth.
“Meredith is genuine, smart, warm and funny, and she has our strong support to help her continue to grow her show in this very challenging day part,” said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.
“The Meredith Vieira Show” premiered on Sept. 8. Filmed at a cozy set that resembles Vieira’s Irvington home, the show features celebrity interviews, stories about everyday people, and a band led by E Street Band’s Everett Bradley. It airs weekdays at 2 p.m. on NBC.
