New City-raised actor Skylar Astin delivered some bad news to his fans on Friday: His TBS comedy ‘Ground Floor’ is ending after two seasons.
“Oh wow. Just found out that TBS officially cancelled Ground Floor. Such a shame,” the Clarkstown North High School grad tweeted, though the network has not made an official announcement.
“I’ll always love Brody Carol Moyer,” the actor continued, referring to the hot shot banker he plays on the show. “Nothing I can do.”
Astin landed the leading role in ‘Ground Floor’ in 2013, after his breakout performance is the hit movie musical ‘Pitch Perfect.’ The Teen Choice Award winner will also appear in ‘Pitch Perfect 2,’ coming to theaters on May 15.
It is unclear if he already has other roles in the works, but Astin tweeted that he is “looking forward to something new.” In a a 2013 interview the former Broadway performer told LoHud’s Peter Kramer, “I’m a New Yorker at heart and I’m not against doing a play or a musical or shooting something in New York.”
