Rooney Mara is the girl with the disappointing news.
The Westchester-raised actress, who starred in ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,’ says you shouldn’t hold your breath for a sequel to the 2011 film.
“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” the Fox Line High School grad told E!. “I’m sad never to do it again, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards.”
Mara was nominated for an Academy Award for her breakout role in the movie, David Fincher’s adaptation of the best-selling novel. There was buzz that a followup film was being written, based on the novel “The Girl Who Played With Fire.”
Even if the ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ sequel doesn’t happen, Mara has been landing plenty of other roles to keep her busy.
Kate Mara’s younger sis will star in Joe Wright’s Peter Pan prequel “Pan,” the upcoming drama “The Secret Scripture,” and her own production “A House In The Sky,” the true story of abducted journalist Amanda Lindhout.
