Bedford resident Rob Thomas won’t be spending much time at home this summer. He’s heading for The Great Unknown.
The Grammy-winning singer will hit the road for a 37-city outing titled The Great Unknown 2015. Featuring special guests The Plain White Ts, the tour will begin June 11 in Orillia, Ontario and continue in cities including Denver, Seattle and Nashville before wrapping up on Aug. 10.
Thomas will also perform at venues closer to home, including the Beacon Theater in Manhattan (Aug. 6) and Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. (Aug. 9). Pre-sale tickets will go on sale Wednesday. For most shows, tickets will be made available to the general public April 3-4. Dates are available at www.robthomasmusic.com.
In a playful announcement posted on YouTube, Thomas says he plans to play “some of the old stuff, some of the new stuff, a little bit of everything.”
Speaking of “the new stuff,” the Matchbox 20 frontman is finishing up his third solo album, which will also be titled ‘The Great Unknown.” The first single will be released in the summer.
