Bedford resident Michael Douglas is mourning the death of his mother, who passed away Friday at the age of 92.
“I am saddened to announce the death of my beloved mom, Diana Douglas Webster,” the Oscar winner wrote on Facebook. “She died peacefully of cancer after having been a patient in palliative care since early June. I will love and miss her forever.”
Webster, a former actress who was married to film icon Kirk Douglas from 1943 to 1951, had been hospitalized at the Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA. She last appeared in the 2003 film “It Runs in the Family” alongside three Douglas men: her ex-husband Kirk, son Michael and grandson Cameron.
Webster’s daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones paid tribute to the family matriarch on Facebook Monday. “Diana we are so grateful to have had you in our lives,” she wrote. “We will miss you everyday. Until we meet again…Love you very much.”
