Mount Vernon’s own Sean Combs tops Forbes’ annual list of the world’s highest paid hip-hop stars. The rapper/producer/business mogul earned $60 million over the past year, thanks to his clothing label Sean John, his TV network Revolt, his vodka brand Ciroc and several other ventures.
After he was declared the reigning hip-hop cash king for the third year in a row, the former Mount Vernon paper boy tweeted a photo of himself wearing a t-shirt that simply says “King.” But another hip-hop superstar is eyeing his throne.
Jay-Z lands at number two on the Forbes list. Beyonce’s mogul husband, whose businesses include a champagne brand, earned $56 million last year alone. Rapper Drake, who pulled in $39.5 million, rounds out the top three.
