Audra McDonald is saying “hello again” to the big screen. The Broadway star, who lives in Croton-on-Hudson, will star in a movie adaptation of Michael John LaChiusa’s chamber musical “Hello Again.”
The movie, which follows 10 “lost souls” in New York City, will also star Tyler Blackburn, Jenna Ushkowitz, Martha Plimpton, T.R. Knight and Rumer Willis, daughter of Bedford’s Bruce Willis. Filming is already underway in New York.
McDonald, who recently appeared in Meryl Streep’s locally-filmed movie “Ricki and the Flash,” is also preparing for her next Broadway role. The six-time Tony winner will star in the upcoming production of “Shuffle Along, Or, The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed.” Previews will begin at the Music Box Theatre on March 14.
